View from the Trail is one of my newest art pieces. It was inspired by a photo I took on the Virginia Creeper Trail.

This original colored pencil drawing is a vibrant and detailed painting that features a Norther Flicker (a.k.a. in Alabama as a Yellowhammer), a swallowtail butterfly, and a camellia flowers. A golden arched shape frames the central portion of the artwork. The background is filled with lush green leaves and smaller white flowers, creating a sense of depth and adding interest. The golden arch highlights the main subjects, helping them standout from the background. This piece was created to capture the essence of nature’s beauty.

There is nothing like looking in the backyard at the bird feeder and seeing an adorable Tufted Titmouse. Their big round eyes and fluffy bodies make them so cute. Their beautiful blueish-grey plumage provides a striking complement to the surrounding soft pink cherry blossoms. Pieces in my Birds & Blooms series are marked by a gold shape framing the bird. Since the flowers and bird in this piece have a more rounded appearance, I chose to go with something more angular shape for the frame.
Tufted Titmouse & Cherry Blossoms would look beautiful on a gallery wall with other pieces from this series or even alone to brighten up your space.

Jennifer is a great artist. She has done several things for me. My favorite was a drawing of my grandparents cooking together in the kitchen. For Christmas she did a picture of my son’s dog which I gave to him as a present. Everything that she has done for me is so accurate and looks just like the people( or animal) that she is drawing. I just love them all.

I think all the art work that I’ve seen from Jennifer Alexander was heart felt, lovingly and professionally done. I received a drawing of two raccoons as a gift from my wife and it is so realistic you could be looking out the window at them. We had three families of raccoons born and raised in the roof at our old house and this drawing is a representation of that experience. It takes me right back to watching the momma and babies scratching around above us.
I don’t know of anything I could recommend to make it any better other than exposure, because when people see Jennifer’s art work they always love it!
